The National Career Development Association (NCDA) provides professional development, publications, standards, and advocacy to practitioners and educators who inspire and empower individuals to achieve their career and life goals.

While this association covers the whole of the career counselor profession, its publications and trainings offer specific help with advising students, as well as other groups within the school framework such as minorities and special education students. The regular membership is $85 per year but the have a new member option for $35. I will as my administrator to include a yearly membership in the career center budget.
Association of Career and Technical Education
The Association for Career and Technical Education is the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for careers. It's our mission is to provide educational leadership in developing a competitive workforce.

This is the largest not-for-profit professional career education organization in the country. It offers professional development and a clearinghouse for research on career and technical education. A professional membership is $80. I hope to join this organization, as well.
