My Maps is a google app where students can create their own maps by dropping marker pins anywhere on the map (on the world). They can design the marker, itself and then add descriptions, pictures and websites to the pin. Sophomore Global Studies Unit 1 covers the 5 Themes of Geography. My Maps can easily and efficiently be used to assess a student's geographic  knowledge and application of Location, Place, Region, Human/Environment Interaction and Movement. When all students are invited into a map the teacher creates, each student can drop a pin on a location and then add required data. A list of the pins, along with the student's name, appears on the left side of the map. Teachers' can quickly and efficiently.and assess student knowledge.
