When I return to the islands I now go to Molokai where my grandfather first emigrated from Ireland. Check out this east Molokai tour I made, again using Google Earth and Screencast-O-Matic.
Interests:
I have many questions about my maternal great grandfather Hugh McCorriston, who settled on Molokai. Apparently in 1889 the McCorriston family entertained Robert Louis Stevenson as Stevenson was conducting his own personal research into the life and work of Father Damien of Kalaupapa Leper Settlement. My grandfather was a first hand witness during a tumultuous era of Hawaiian history. I hope to do more research to better understand the legacy of my family during this time.
